Tunia Studnicka, the owner of this awesome custom
from Big Tony’s Chopp Shop has been riding Harley-
Davidson motorcycles for eight years. She met
Tony Starita, owner/operator of Big Tony’s Chopp Shop
through her husband, who’s been riding for more than 15
years. She quickly discovered that riding on the back of
a motorcycle, while fun, is no where near as much fun as
riding your own motorcycle. She decided that she wanted
her own custom motorcycle, and that decision resulted in
the lean, very green, two-wheeled machine seen here.
All fabrication and assembly was performed by Tony and
Ken at the Chopp Shop facility which is located about 50
miles south of Chicago, IL. Chrome plating was expertly
performed by Coating Specialties. NSD Paintwerks laid
on the Candy Apple Green that looks good enough to eat,
as well as the Pearl White and Silver-Leaf graphics.
For power, Tunia went with an Ultima 120” King Kong
motor; after all she’s got to be able to keep up with her
husband. A 45mm Mikuni carburetor and Vance & Hines
Big Radius exhaust system provide plenty of intake and
output so the motor can produce 130 horsepower at the
rear wheel. All those ponies will “Mis’Treatya” if you don’t
stay on top of things. A compression ratio of 10:1 means
high octane gasoline is a must.
An ’09 Ultima Trick Shift right side drive six-speed
transmission is of course foot shifted. Power from
that big Ultima V-Twin arrives at the transmission via
an Ultima Billet Aluminum Drag-Drive primary.
Tunia’s frame has four inches of backbone stretch plus two
inches of swingarm stretch. A Simplifi ed Air Suspension
system keeps things comfortable while being adjustable
on the fl y with Climax controls. The semi-hidden wiring
adds a nice touch to this chassis.
Ultima also provided the inverted (sliders on top) 58mm
hydraulic fork. Two inches of extension maintains this
bike’s level stance. Triple clamp rake is five degrees.
Special wheels have been installed on this very special
motorcycle. Up front is a 21 x 3.5” Diamond unit with an
Avon Viper 120 tire installed. Front axle braking comes from a
Hawg Halters caliper and rotor. The rear wheel is an 18 x 10”.
The rear tire is an Avon Viper of the 300mm variety. Braking
in the rear is accomplished with a hidden drive side braking
system that uses an HHI caliper. The comfortable leather
saddle is courtesy of D. Pomares.
